Creative Visualization In Practice

Creative visualization is an ancient practice that is as pertinent today as it was thousands of years ago. Using visualization can be effective at any time; even as you go about your daily routine, but it is most powerful when done in a relaxed state.

Visualize clearly is mental images, feeling, and thoughts concerning a specific event. By visualizing the accomplishments you want to make, you are affecting your ideas and beliefs about your self-image and your life. As you are guided through your relaxation/visualization sessions, you’re using your natural imagination in a conscious way, to create what you truly want, starting with your self-image.

If you are adopting the limiting belief that visualizing doesn’t work, then that will become your reality. But the best news is that the opposite is also true. You must start by observing and then experiencing proof, and then by visualizing as often as possible.

Let’s say, you want to become the CEO of your company. You have to visualize see yourself sitting in a big design-chair, you are enthusiastic with what you see to be your new office. It is very well equipped with the kind of furniture you love. You see yourself as the happiest person, you really enjoy the job and the tasks that await you. You see yourself giving speeches about how your reached your goal and how you motivate other people to do the same. By repeating this visualization many times until you feel that your dream is coming true. Then you continue and do it until you really sit in that chair.

They may lead an extremely active lifestyle, or just have too much on their plate to take out the time for themselves and their dreams. If this sounds familiar to you, do not worry: you do not need to be an expert in mental imagery in order to harness its benefits.

Visualization gives you the focus and motivation to punch a hole through the procrastination, laziness, and all the social and personal pressures along this journey. This empowers you to do the hard work, thinking of the results from all my sweat, deep breathing and fast-beating heart as the results. To wrap up with visualization, just remember this. You can change who you believe you are with visualization.

Sometimes visualizations are very subtle. If you are a conceptual thinker you may not see in graphic detail. Instead, you may receive impressions, ideas, feelings or inner knowing. It is best to avoid expectations about how your visualizations will appear. Be completely open and receptive to whatever comes to your inner mind. Your own experiences will be uniquely wonderful.

Who says that you have to visualize the same thing over and over again? When it comes to creative visualization, there is only one rule: anything goes! Avoid feeling like you have to restrict yourself when visualizing the things you want.

As you continue with a visualization practice this pattern will diminish and be replaced with the positive ideas you are now putting into your mind. As you repeat your sessions every day, the positive changes in your life will grow greater and greater.

It’s Your Life – It’s Your Responsibility

I’m forever ranting on about the way so-called “normal” people are mad and that it is up to each of us to “stop the madness”. Having recently spent a day chatting with a number of long-standing personal development clients with regard to how quantum physics elegantly describes how our universe, our world and our little bit of it – our daily life – really works. What we put in – in energy – we get back out. If, like normal people, you put almost nothing in (you should be aware that research suggests that the normal person only puts 1% of their mental energy into the here and now), don’t be surprised if you, as a normal person, get next to nothing in return.

Energy is only present – in effect, worrying about the future of dwelling on the past has no effect on energy. The only time that the universe exists is now. And you can only invest your mental energy in the here and now, if you focus your mind or take control of your present state of mind. And you can only control your present state of mind if you’re up to taking responsibility for yourself. And that’s a big deal. It is obvious to me that normal people are not big enough for that task.

Just listen to political “leaders” hold forth on the ongoing need to “rescue” the economy from the disaster that has befallen it. What they’re saying is “Hey, it’s not our fault, it’s the fault of an unprecedented ‘fracture in the international financial system’” – that’s real quote, by the way – as if the financial system was something conscious that thinks for itself! And, then, spare a thought for the poor bankers, who won’t to take any responsibility on their shoulders either. A few (only a few) bankers have actually apologised for the mess – though they’re not sufficiently sorry to return their large salaries, bonuses, pension top-ups or golden handshakes. Pretty much all the bankers that I’ve listened to have blamed the catastrophe that has befallen their noble institutions… on the credit crunch.

Reality check: Is the “fracture in the financial system” some self-created beast in which no one had a hand, act or part? Is the “credit crunch” some monster from the deep with a mind of its own that surfaced to consume all right-thinking bankers (and everyone else with them)? Is no one to blame? Will nobody take responsibility? We expect our kids to own up to breaking a cup or having a few beers – but these so-called adults don’t really lead by example, do they?

And are you responsible? Are your problems someone else’s fault? Sure, crap happens – often we can’t control it – but we can control how we react or, more to the point, act when it comes to the crunch. Time to grow up. Time to be responsible for yourself – for your mind. If you don’t life will give you precious little in return (I’ve had to edit what I was going to say in case no one would publish this post!) well, pretty much nothing, for your “efforts” – you’ll have got what you deserved. What goes around, comes around – it’s the Law of Attraction, it’s how the energy that is our universe works.

Personal Growth: Waiting For Pennies To Drop

The old saying goes that even the greatest journey starts with the tiniest of steps – or words to that effect! And, certainly, so it is with the very personal journey that some describe as Personal Development. But the challenge in life is not just to start a journey, but to keep going. Research points to the fact that most people who stumble or fail on their chosen journey – be it a new business venture, a weight loss goal, their desire to progress in a particular career or the desire to progress at a particular sport or musical instrument – will, having failed once, rarely try more than a couple of times. Yet, statistics for the Business School at Madrid’s University show that those who are really successful are prepared to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get on with it for just as many times as it takes. And it was Calvin Coolidge who alerted us to the importance of persistence, stating that only perseverance leads to success.

Last week, a client and I discussed the importance of regularly and continually taking even the smallest of steps to ensure that they stayed on their chosen path – their own Personal Development journey to effortless career success and personal health and happiness. The idea that even two or three minutes meditation in a day is infinitely better than no mental exercising at all was likened to us putting another penny in the slot so that, sooner or later, pennies will drop for us. I don’t know about you but, when I was growing up, we often went to the amusement arcade where you rolled pennies down a slot, onto a moving platform that had loads of pennies – most of them appeared as if they were about to cascade over the edge, into my hand!

In life, in business, in meditation, we simply do not know which penny will tip the balance in our favour. But the one sure thing is that, if we stop putting our daily penny in the slot, we will not reap the reward of the pennies that we have already invested. In fact, we will come to the incorrect conclusion that we have wasted all our previous pennies. Every penny counts – every minute that you invest in your own Personal Development no matter how seemingly insignificant, every moment spent in mindfulness, leads you to a greater awareness, a greater level of presence, opens your mind further to the incredible possibilities that this life holds for us and, indeed, the opportunities that may well be staring you in the face if you only had eyes to see.
For everyone with whom I have worked, sooner or later, pennies drop. But, if you really want to Change Your Life, you’ve got to put your next penny in the slot – today…

The Perils Of Positive Thinking

It is quite amazing the number of people who swear by the benefits of Positive Thinking but have very little to show for it. Of course, positive thinking is far better than negative thinking, but it is still just thinking – and most of the thinking that we do exercises our conscious mind, that small part of our mind that plays little or no part in the creation of our everyday lives. Rather, it is our programmed subconscious mind that creates our automatic behaviour as a result of which our version of reality unfolds before our very eyes. It is our subconscious that creates stress, anxiety and the fear of taking the brave and courageous decisions that we need to often take if we are, indeed, to follow up on our positive thinking. Of course, the kind of decisions that I’m talking about are only “brave” or “courageous” to normal, crazy people.

Even though positive thinking is better than the negative alternative, thinking stops doing. Or worse, recent work in the US indicates that positive thinking has blinded otherwise well-informed business people from the obvious pitfalls of pursuing a certain course of action – senior figures in the banking world get a particular mention! That aside, at very best, too much thinking is a dangerous thing.

If you really wanted to pursue the route of Self-Improvement, you would be far better of trying a little positive doing! So, having prioritized the things that are truly important to your success and happiness, actually doing just the important things that need to be done to achieve your goals, to Change Your Life or, indeed, to play the perfect game of golf – if that is what turns you on! If you have financial worries or your business is suffering as a result of the economic downturn, if you feel inadequate in certain business or social situations, if your relationship is in difficulties or if your health is going downhill, if you hate your job or hate your life – you have got to take action. By action I mean real action, not the normal automatic reaction that makes things worse rather than better and, indeed, not more of the same. If you want something different in your business, career or life, you’ve got to do something different – thinking about it will not only get you nowhere, it may actually convince you to take no action at all.

However, how will you know what positive action needs to be taken, what doing needs to be done? Well, you can’t do anything without a clear and present mind. Too often we are paralysed for want of stepping back from the perceived mess in which we find ourselves, too often the normal mind is too muddled – and positive thinking may actually muddle it more. To embark on the correct positive action, you need to take one step back from all your cares, worries and frustrations. You need to take or make a few minutes each day to experience the reality of the here and now. You need to come to your senses – you have five of them, it’s time that you used them. In doing so, you will be more present which, in turn, means that you will have presence – the hallmark of all great positive doers.

How Will Meditation Provide Peace Of Mind

Millions of people around the world meditate – many on a daily basis. However, hundreds of surveys confirm that the vast majority of people are stuck in a life that they’re not happy with. Almost all of my personal development clients meditate – but a lot of them still find themselves stressed, worried and unhappy during the rest of the day. So the important question is can meditation give you peace of mind?

For starters, there are plenty of people who don’t even find peace of mind while they’re meditating! Their heads are all over the place, they’re easily distracted or often they end up consumed by completely destructive thoughts. All too often, when they meditate, they become even more frustrated than they were before they sat down because they believe that they don’t know how to meditate. However, even if you’re an expert at meditating and get true peace of mind out of it, often than not that same focus and peace of mind doesn’t stay with you as your day progresses. You fall back to your stressed out state of mind.

As normal people We’re conditioned to be mentally all over the place – it’s a simple fact of life. And that’s how we’ll stay unless we take the appropriate steps – not just while we’re meditating but throughout each and every day. The first thing to understand is that meditation should be viewed as an exercise in mental discipline. Basically, even if you’re all over the place during your meditation, the determinationto see it through disciplines your mind. You shouldn’t worry, you shouldn’t fret, you must decide to get on with your session.

Even more importantly, I believe that most practitioners don’t seem to make the link between meditating and what’s going on during their daily existence. You have to stop yourself during the day to evaluate how you’re feeling. There’s more than a fifty-fifty chance that you’ll be all over the place relative to the calm that can come over you during a good meditation session. After you’re determined your current state of mind, you need to take action to bring yourself back towards the optimum peaceful state of mind. This doesn’t have to be drastic action. It can be something simple, like standing up from your desk for five minutes to take a breather – literally, focus on your inward and outward breathing, nobody else will even notice. Or you could head outside for your habitual cigarette and really enjoy it – yeah, even smoking can be a meditation. The important point is that you need to pause, check in with how you’re feeling and tune back in to the reality of the moment.

Like I said, meditation is a discipline. Discipline your mind often – not just with a quick session of meditation before the day gets going, but throughout the day too. Otherwise, the peace of mind that you experience from (even if it’s only every so often) will be of no practical use to you during the course of your daily life. And, if your meditation doesn’t make a practical difference in your life, why bother?

Stop Watching Porn! – 3 Of The Most Important Damaging Consequences Of Pornography Obsession

Everyone knows that the Web is packed with an abundance of easily accessible pornography that might be downloaded totally free or viewed without interruption. One can find many differing types of porn obtainable on the Web, everything from pictures to movies, a little something for everybody.

To stop watching porn is not quite piece of cake. Some will consider that your suffering is a made up thing, or consider it is unproblematic to stop. Maybe you might have thought the same thing up to the moment you wanted to stop this addiction and found yourself returning to it again and again. This is a factual obsession affiliated to any other behavioural addiction that does not have mind bending drugs.

Ok, so we have underlined that being dependent of porn isn’t quite a decent thing, therefore let’s have a look at the damaging effects of this defect.

1. The pornography craving may maximize the sensation of guilt and shame. The emotional hurt should not be neglected because this sort of pain is the most usual one on the subject of the porn dependence. The addict will experience a bottomless and sharp sensation of own failure and even disgrace is likely to be experienced on a stable basis.

2. The next characteristic of this dependence that makes it scientifically legitimate consists in the adjustments that happen in the human brain when one engages in actions connected to pornography. When an addict watches porn, testosterone, dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin are produced, creating what many scientists refer to as an “erototoxin”. The chemical change, which causes the person participating in the deed to have a transitory emotion of excitement, becomes a essential for the man or woman to operate. Like any other kind of addict, porn dependents become trapped within their condition, and the disparity between indifferently looking at pornography and being an addict is connected to the chemical makeup of the human brain.

3. A man or woman obsessed with porn can become fairly touchy or restless if pornography access is no longer obtainable or is stopped in some way. A pornography viewing habit collides with daily life such as home, school, work or other obligations. So, a pornography dependent will neglect or quit activities that are work-related, recreational or social in order to get more time to spend watching pornography.

Luckily, one can find quite a few methods to eliminate this obsession. I do know that lots of persons in this state have tried to stop on their own but failed numerous times. The best strategy to chatter with someone that you think may have a pornography dependence is to speak with them openly about it. If the person is viewing porn over the internet, then there really is plenty that you can do to aid. The first step, obviously, is to eradicate the temptation. You do not necessarily have to remove the computer from the home or stop the Internet service.

There is also a program that I would like to recommend to any one having this problem. Click here: stop masturbation

You Can Optimize Your IQ

Optimize your IQ and make the best of the brains potential is easy.Everyone has heard of the intelligence quotient . The potential of the brain called the level of intelligence or IQ These tests use the theory of single and multiple, it is believed that the two main theories when studying the brain.

Only refers to parts of the brain where the linguistic and mathematical ability and limited in that area. Although the theory is to multiply by the side of the brain visual development, spatial, musical, rhythmic, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal and personal use.

It was found that there are only three ways to increase your brain.

First, decide what is good. Very few people are good at everything. A person is considered intelligent whether their skill is derived from music, visual intelligence, physical or personal.

Most people possess these skills, and probably not even realize. If you are a creative person at heart, about writing, acting or singing.

You will be amazed at how well you’re doing. Some people are born with phone numbers, do not think it was something special, however, other people. There are so many different places where you have the potential to excel.

Gymnastics, Dance, construction or design, you never know what you can do until you try. Do you have the most incredible feeling when you achieve something you’ve done. If you do not try to make you a disservice.

Some people describe themselves as academics. The genius is a person with great intelligence. These people are Einstein, Mozart and Bach. The great man who achieved greatness through their genius.

This does not mean you need to be a genius to succeed. It simply means that you must use your brain as much as possible. The more you try to improve, more will benefit brain. When you use your brain then you can achieve something. Using his power and in the right direction.

Expand your horizons with your brains potential. This does not mean you should sit down and study the encyclopedia. If you study, you know all the five senses of touch, taste, sight, smell and taste.

Want to learn from their experiences in life, and everything in life experience. Can not be through education. This is a great way to increase the potential of your brain.

New skills can be learned every day. The talent comes in two forms, either you’re born with it or learn. The brain is like a sponge, ready for whatever comes to capture him. The old adage that practice makes perfect, actually.

It is difficult to make the best brain possible. Many people do that every day without even realizing it.

Just reading a book or sing their favorite song on the radio, your brains potential.

There are many IQ tests that can be taken, however, many people question the validity of the intelligence quotient tests.

All Men Live Lives Of Quiet Desperation?

“All Men Live Lives of Quiet Desperation.”

What the fuck? I just heard that today, I swear.

Those are the words of a beaten man accepting failure. Fuck that. I disagree with every ounce of my being. Win or lose, I will never give up the fight. The only way your life is one of quiet desperation is if you let it become that way. I, for one, say No. I will never lead that life. I will always try, I will always put every piece of my being into my dream, I will always demand a destiny I think I deserve and then I will spend every moment and ounce of energy I have trying to reach it. I will never just settle. Settling is for losers. I would rather give it my very best shot and fail than never try.

If you haven’t realized it by now, you will realize soon enough that a lot of people out there tiptoe through their lives, unsure of who they are or what they want, blindly following the demands of society, never truly finding themselves or their calling, until they arrive quietly at their death.

I refuse to tiptoe through life and arrive quietly at my death. I decided a long time ago that I would not be one of those guys. That no matter how much effort or pain or sacrifice it took, I refused to settle. I refused to not actively take part in my life, instead of just going with the flow and finding myself in a place where I looked up and thought “I am so unhappy with my life. How did I get here?”

But here’s the thing: It is very easy to get there without realizing how you got there. Maybe our culture does a poor job of making its youth understand that getting life right is very hard. I can’t stand people my age. I’m young, but I’ve been through so many challenging bouts in life up to this point where I have matured and REFUSE to make excuses by blaming others and outside elements.

It requires a lot of skills to be a success. More than anything, it demands that you be two things: determined to find a path to your personal success, and courageous enough to take it, despite the consequences. Think to yourself: How many people do you know that you can really describe that way? Not many.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that it’s a choice. Success truly is a choice. Every single day, with every single action and every single decision, you pick your own path. Do you read something that educates you instead of watching your tenth Seinfeld rerun? That’s a choice. Do you go exercise like you want to, or do you just drink a Diet Coke and sit on the sofa? That’s a choice.

Do you start writing like you’ve always said you wanted to, or do you just put it off for another day? That is a choice. Do you better your life by enhancing vital and meaningful skills that will complement everything that you do or do you sit around and play NCAA Football 2011 online all day? That is a choice.

When you are arguing with the girl or woman of your dreams that you love and you have been arguing with her for several times in several days, do you give up and stop talking to her or do you ride out the storm, reconcile and make things better by climbing over tough obstacles? Every day you make hundreds of these choices, and when you are 50 and look up to find yourself in a shitty life that you don’t like, you have no one to blame but yourself.

All of you are a bunch of slaves to your own willpower, but furthermore, you are society’s bitch. You pay an excessive amount for shit you don’t even need instead of paying your car payment, and then you wonder why life is so tough. Yeah, sure, I’m only 20 and have no financial responsibilities at the moment, but I sure as hell know what I’m talking about. You dumbfucks who claim you’re so wise, go ahead and prove me wrong. You are all a bunch of dumbasses who live to love to bash me and those who are right, only because you want to flaunt your age, your life, and your bullshit vanity puff facade that is running tired.

Want to be successful? If so, then stop blaming other people for your life fuckups, quit making excuses, and take control of YOUR life. It’s the most challenging problem you will face in the near future, but it’s worthwhile. To me, anyway. To you it’s probably nothing more than a briefly prominent idea that appears to have meaning to you until you wake up tomorrow morning, throwing back beers and pathetically getting overly pissed off at an NFL franchise who couldn’t care two less halfwit shits about you.

Tough love.

How To Cope With Stress

Stress is an illusion. When you appreciate how stress is created, you will start to understand that, not only are you the author of your own stress but that, in actual fact, stress does not exist in the real world. And, yet, the World Health Organization is of the opinion that stress will be one of the prime killers of the 21st century. The word ‘stress’ will not show up on death certificates, however. There’ll be heart disease, digestive disease, high blood pressure, kidney failure all up there as the usual suspects – the results of stress. Because, even though stress isn’t real, its effects are very real for its sufferers. And, yet, you create your own stress.

For sure, each day is full of challenges. For many, each day is an uphill struggle. But life’s pains and pleasures are just sent to try us. And, sadly, most of us aren’t up to the task. Why? Because we are conditioned to dwell on the negative, to think the worst, to feel inadequate, to react. The normal person never acts – they simply react. And in reacting, they don’t react to what is really taking place, their programmed minds react to what they perceive to be happening. Therein lie the seeds that flourish into stress – with all its very real related problems. Because, in reacting, we make things worse than we think they already are.

The normal subconscious was conditioned during our formative years. Since adolescence we’ve learned little new – we simply rehash the same behaviours, the same reactions, the same mistakes. As a consequence of our programming, we never see what’s really happening – we perceive what we think is happening and react according to our programming. And haven’t you ever noticed that reaction makes a bad situation worse?

Stress is the by-product of ineffective thinking. Something happens – or worse, something doesn’t happen but we think that it’s going to happen – and, as a downside of our own subconscious perceived inadequacy, we get stressed. You cannot control what is nothing more than an automatic chain reaction that is not based on the real world but on what’s going on in your own head. And it’s the way we are – we’re hard-wired that way. To be blunt about it, our minds control us, surely it should be the other way around. As sure a definition of lunacy as I’ve ever encountered.

So how can you break the habit of an adult lifetime? The short answer is ‘yes’ – but you must stop paying attention to the crap that’s doing your head in and you’ve got to start focusing on the reality of the present moment. In the present moment there is no stress. In fact, in the present moment, in spite of evidence to the contrary, everything is well. The secret to a stress-free life is found in being present in the reality of now. This is absolutely different from subconsciously living in a childhood long past and, because you’re hard-wired for self-destruction, it requires re-training.

Psychology has established that the state of mind of happiness is inextricably linked to giving full focus to the present. When one’s breath is taken away by the beauty of a setting sun or an out-of-the-ordinary life event like the birth of a child, we experience a natural high. You need to learn how to self-administer that natural high. And it can be simply achieved. First of all, you take small steps – for small steps lead to great leaps.

So, right now, after finishing this article, give yourself five minutes. Sit down, close your eyes and just listen. Do nothing else. Just hear what you are hearing. Don’t analyse what you’re hearing or what you’re feeling. Just listen. Your mind will put up a fight – it doesn’t like someone else – the real you – trying to grab the controls! So your normal useless thoughts will try to get your energy. Do not give in. However, don’t try to fight them, simply listen to the sounds around you.

With a few minutes’ work every day – regularly working through all your five senses – you will re-learn to focus on reality. And, in reality, there is no stress.
